Chapter Programs
Signature Programs and Initiatives
The Orange County (FL) Alumnae Chapter hosts a variety of programs that embody the mission of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and that are unique to our chapter and the Central Florida community.
Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa is sponsored by the Orange County Alumnae Chapter each year. “Breakfast with Santa” affords an opportunity for children in economically disadvantaged areas to enjoy the spirit of Christmas. This program was first implemented in December 1995 at Ivey Lane Elementary.
It is anticipated that approximately 150 children ranging in ages from two years old to eight years old, along with their parents, will attend to this joyful and educational event. Each student will receive a hot breakfast, a gift item, and participate in arts and crafts, storytelling, and bicycle raffle. In addition, there is an opportunity to take a picture with Santa and his helpers!
Eminence
The Eminence program is for high school juniors and seniors, both male and female. This program offers mentoring, literary cultural activities, educational activities, etiquette and dress for success workshops, grooming, leadership workshops, and service programs. Established in 2006, we have awarded approximately $209,610 to local juniors and seniors.
Student honorees are provided with professional mentoring, cultural development, finance, healthy lifestyle orientation, civic alertness, and social awareness through the structured progression of this program. Past honorees represented the crème of the crop through their outstanding scholastic, community, and athletic successes. Each year our chapter creates a loving, nurturing, and socially enhanced environment to prepare these outstanding student honorees for presentation to society.

Red Hat Literary Tea
The Red Hat Literary Tea is a program that was established as an Arts and Letters initiative. First implemented by our chapter in 2015, this program is a celebration of black women authors that represent a variety of book genres. Each year, an author or author(s) are featured and we gather for afternoon tea to discuss the selected book(s).
